I think it'll look better to have the opening logo be of Oklahoma D-Day, with the awesome paint effects. Then show the 4th ID patch shining in, have the germans shot up :) I like it, I need to get that program!

That sounds good, no problem what so ever. I'll make sure we get that switched around! But, one problem...we don't have any footage of D-Day. Were kinda just making an intro. Unless you guys wouldn't mind sending us some footage to use, even if it's just short, couple-second long clips.

So, the changes so far to make are...
1. Change the vines to ivy
2. Change paint colors
3. Start video with D-Day logo, then transition to 4th ID logo
4. Germans getting destroyed

Sweet!

I'm in the same dilemma, otherwise, you'd see some movies from me. I could pass on some of my footage my pops got riding in a truck all day busing people. He got the flag raising, British assembly to british tanks skirmishing the Jerries. I also have very valuable footage of going down the valley into Utah. I just needed some of Falkrytes footage.

Don't worry JD, just keep at it and we can provide feedback and start pumping out the 4th ID media blitz. Glad your with us on it, your continued enthusiam is very welcome to the unit.

I have seen Falkryte's videos, and I thought about taking some of her footage from Youtube and using it. However, this would be the low-res Youtube footage which would become even more blurred after being uploaded again.

The down the valley shot would be pretty sweet. If you want, when our intro is finished, I can send you the footage that you can import into whatever film editing program you want to throw at the beginning.

Thanks Capt. I'll get my editor working on that new version ASAP, as well as start changing some of the more minor details.

No rush, anytime before Christmas, get enough videos out at one time were golden. I have 30 suscribers so at least it be easy to spread. I'll upload the videos tommarow afternoon.

I tried the downloading of Youtube vids, using Zamzar, didn't work. Maybe Dorsai can use the program he uses for youtube vids so he might be able to assist.

I have a friend with a program I believe is called Vixy. I'll talk with him and find out. Hopefully get some going.

As soon as there are completed ones, I'll make sure my guys have them on their websites, etc as well as put them on there frequent forums and other websites.

That worked last year, getting it across the web, helps put the 4th ID in the web circles and more likly people will join the 4th ID over other units. Why? Because they can talk to us and learn.

Agreed; I think linking to the forums would be useful too.

Of course, and linking towards the D-Day site also. I do that in the description, with a short tutorial on how to go to it and use it. I also including how easy registering is.

The Youtube description? Good idea, I will more than likely copy and paste your instructions to any and all videos I end up uploading.

Because that makes a world of difference. I've actually get alot of questions and answer them. In turn they tell thier friend and you get some good publicity, that is postitve. I meet some fellows in 08 that came after seeing some D-day vids alone, without any previous knowledge. Coolest thing, this was thier first paintball game. I little goes a long way.

How do you think me and my men found about D-Day? We were looking at scenario videos one night, just random stuff. I suggested something WWII themed, so we tried a whole bunch and D-Day happened to be one of them. That kicked back a TON of results, and the rest is history. :)

This exactly what we like to hear! Same here, I was looking for WWII themed games and found a Recruiting vid for 07 and pounced at the chance.

Well, at least we know first hand that the videos work! Hopefully we can bring in a strong crowd; the more 4th ID on the beach, the better. Probably a good idea to make sure our friends in the 899th and 2nd are doing OK with their recruiting as well.

I did the 2nd Armored Group vid last year, with the 899th making a cameo on it. I'll probably do it again, which I look forward to.

I'm surprised you didn't come around eariler. I almost seemed to forgot that you had to read every post...poor Rufu. The question was answered, and if he has any other ideas (or any one else) please post them in this thread to save the aging all watching eyes of "Sauron" Rufus.

As much as I hate reviving old threads, here is a simple banner I threw together.
