It would be neat to plug up someone's mp3/ipod to the "tank" and play music. But it probably would be a pain in some way.

all these ideas are great(except pizza oven). I definintly think if we need to classify it as a tank it shud have some escorts mayybe not to protect it but to help inform germans that it is strictly supply, and we need to have a white falg on it.

Well if it's it motorized, then it's a tank, since it's operated by players it's tank. If it was operated by staff, it be off limits. Believe me, the Jerries won't give a woot what it is. If it is Blue, has a US flag and assisting us, then they'll be on it like bees on honey. Scratch the white flag, no white flags belong on American military vechicles! This tank will have to operate like any other tank, the escorts will be carrying guns.

Love this idea, and depending on then I already have the cable we need for it.
The cable to play over radio isn't much more expensive.

Any vehicle on the field of play is classified as a tank, with the exception of staff and ref vehicles. Doesn't matter if it is an APC, an attack vehicle, or simply a supply vehicle, the Germans will be itching to eliminate it.

Once hit it will have to proceed to the tank Deadzone and wait until the top or bottom of the hour for reinsertion effectively limiting our supplies (the very reason this vehicle exists). For that reason, the vehicle will be used mainly in the rear of the Unit, following close enough to deliver what ever supplies are needed, but far enough out of harms way.

If however, if we develop Heavy weapons, then the possibility exists that the tank can become offensive.

Guys in order to win this year, we will have to do things a little different, start thinking outside the box a little. What things can we do differently to make a difference? Think of the entire Northern Army not just the 4th ID. PM any suggestions to me.

Well Rufus elaborated on what I stated.

I think we have a idea and direction with this. Another aspect is who is going to run this vechicle? I understand Chief Logistics will be on it, but it may require more than one person. I'm talking operators, not armed escorts or gunner(s).

Another thing, how large are we talking here? In terms of a vechicle.

Yes but don't put them in Bavarian clothes otherwise it'll be in the dead zone the entire game.

No seriously, about the size of a large pickup truck.

With that, this opens a large range military surplus Trucks. Most under the price of todays trucks. Check out Military vechicle classifieds.

I'd be happy with a large pickup truck. An ambulance would be even better. But a deuce and a half might be a bit much.

http://www.idahomotorpool.com/

There some good vechicles there. I thought a few would be ideal, and no I'm not talking about the big rigs. Here's are some I can see working for us.

M37 $4,200
http://p8.hostingprod.com/@idahomotorpo ... gain-2.jpg
http://p8.hostingprod.com/@idahomotorpo ... gain-6.jpg
http://p8.hostingprod.com/@idahomotorpo ... gain-4.jpg
I think this would be more than ideal for what we want to use such a vehicle for.

M109 Van Truck #347 $6,500

http://p8.hostingprod.com/@idahomotorpo ... 9-Van4.jpg
http://p8.hostingprod.com/@idahomotorpo ... 9-Van5.jpg
I think this is what might be best. But it probably be hotter than hell in it. Put in some big fans and should be bearable.

And
M274a2 Mule $4,500

http://p8.hostingprod.com/@idahomotorpo ... /mule2.JPG
I think with some plyboarding on the Mule, it could be adaptable to what we plan on doing with it.

Here's another alternative, more like a traditional civilian pickup.

This just might be what Farris had in mind. Plus if everyone chipped in a small bit over time, we might be able to field this sucker.

If anyone has any 3000 psi fill tanks, or knows anyone that has one, let us know. Go to your local fields and see if they'd be willing to let us borrow a couple in exchange for slapping their logo/banner on some stuff or putting their business card in the welcome packet or something.

I dont know about fill tanks but as far as a truck goes check your states Auto & RV trader publication. Sometimes you can find 4x4 vehicles for a reasonable price.

Farris, I currently have 3 scuba tanks (3000 psi). 2 are 80 cu ft tanks and 1 is a 62, I think. We are also planning on having either more scubas or a 5000 psi compressor with us. The scubas work pretty good for getting tanks back up and going, but you won't get alot of air out of them, especially if players are running their tanks completely empty. I have kept 10 people playing all day at our field with 1 scuba, but it requires a watchful eye on the gauges.

The vehicle has already been acquired. Icehouse are you volunteering your equipment? Also, can you to teach us how to refill tanks?
