I am happy to announce the 4th Infantry will very likely have a major role in the film. I have been in contact with Mike DeChant who is the Co-Director of the film, and after a brief e-mail interview, he has expressed much interest in the Utah beach battle, and specifically "a young (late teens - early twenties) Allied player who storms the beach with abandon and physically charges into the chaos to try to take the flag".
I have not yet suggested anyone specific person to him, I told him "Many of our leaders...are chosen by such standards. In fact, the phrase 'storms the beach with abandon' applies to many of our troops in the 4th ID". Perhaps he will be able to cover several of you.
In case you haven't noticed, the home page now has a link to the Soldiers of Paint website. If you have not already watched the trailer, please do so.

Did you say early 40's?
Guys this is a great opportunity to show off our unit! I hope they are able to film fast because Utah will be Allied controlled in the first 30 minutes.

Interesting, I didn't see them last year. If anything some good PR for the unit.

Late teens? Check!
Storms the beach with abandon and physically charges into the chaos to try to take the flag? Check!
Sign me up! Hell, everyone I'm bringing is fool-hearty enough to try and rush the flag!
But seriously, I've watched the trailer a couple times now and it's looking great.

I saw them filming before the Game begain. Sadly though, what I saw was Farris arguing with Dewayne about no water in the DZ. Hopefully that won't be in the film. I didn't see them on the field filming too. I wonder if they will film more of Utah this year.

I think I did that last year with the Victor Company flag. Too bad they didn't film that. I'm glad we have plenty of fools...err adventureous youth to storm the flag.
Well, I will be doing the same again. I'm sure anyone in Charlie Company is willing to step as JD examplified.

One thing that will be interesting is how they reedit the people who have changed leadership positions.

Actually you were the first I thought of, but then remembered how "graceful" you are.

Once was enough...we should put a caution sticker on your back so people know to steer clear! Haha, just kidding.

LOL,
Let's try getting as much traffic over to those guys. They're working hard, and something tells me if we help them out, we can possibly get more screen time for the Division. Plus, they are going out of thier way to make a feature length movie for our little event.

Definitely count me in. Just have Farris or someone of the like point me in the right direction. I might get "thoroughly painted," in the process, but I will get there. Hell! Gettin painted is half the fun! Actually, you can probably count most of Victor in as well. I bet I could sell them on the idea.
Oh, and HitMan had a good point, the film crew better work fast. I'd say the Germans will be very lucky if they have that beach for....oh....i don't know......20 minutes?! They won't last long.

Got bored so I was messing around the SoP site. I found this site if anyone hasn't seen it. A website of some of Doug's work. There is a montage clips from his work. Some of it contains brief SoP scenes. Some from the trailer they showed us at JT's tent. http://www.upgfilms.com/reel.html
