Those of us who didn't like the paint from 2009, here is good news. The following is a quote from GRPunisher:

"JT is dropped as paint supplier and Kee Sports picked up. We shot RPS PRemium and Marbilizers for the same usual price-was happy with the paint.

The main road to the field will be moved to the back half and be more user friendly and registration will be quick, painless, 24 hours at the entry road/gate when you drive in.

Dwayne and Ed played ball and hung out with the players all weekend-first time ive seen that in my 6 years of attending ALL the bunker events so congrats to them being able to make that commitment

there was more.....must recuperate first and remember"

They are saying the cost will by $50 for Premium and $65 for Marbilizers! This is great news!

I was just over at the site and guys, this is outstanding news! We have been shooting Premium and it is an outstanding paint. For $50 a case, that is a great price. I would recommend purchasing the Premium vs. Marbillizers for the simple reason that there is so very little in the 2. In our opinion, there is not a $15 difference in the 2 paints.

I would be willing to go ahead and pre-order 10 cases of the Premium myself!

WOW!! This is awesome... NO MORE HYDRO, NO MORE HYDRO, NANANANABOOBOO!

Had to do it... LOL!!!!

I can almost guarantee they are not ditching CO2. Doing so would eliminate a huge population of players that simply cannot afford to upgrade to an HPA tank.

I think the CO2 idea has been quietly swept under the rug for now.

I thought that this thread was about the "new paint', not whether or not we will have CO2 available. Gosh guys, get back on track! LOL!!

HPA is available in many sizes, however I am not aware of "gallon" being one of them. HPA tanks are measured in cubic inches. Most common is the 68ci 4500psi tank, although there are many other options.
I believe www.paintball-discounters.com has the largest selection. You can find a 48ci 3000psi tank for under $50. It is a cheaper option, just requires more trips to the air station.

I believe this is the official message.

"To clarify:

D-DAY 2010
BT Munitions: $65.00 a case.

Marballizer:$75.00 a case and one free BT Grenade!!! (D-DAY only for Grenade.)

BHD/RED DAWN:

Bt Munitions/Premium: $50.00 a case.

Marballizer: $65.00

The Increase in price for D-DAY is consistant with most if not all big games and reflects added cost of production and cost of doing business for the size of event. The standard price for paint $65.00 at D-DAY has been consistant for some time and we do not forcast any change in the near future. "

"As for the new camp ground and registration booth changes I dont feel at this time that it will really affect any current camping situation. You would be looking at very little change to make this happen. We will post pictures when it happens so you can adjust accordingly. This project is going to take place much closer to Big Game time and may not happen before BHD...We will do our best to get it complete by BHD so units can get a feel for it.....Ed "

More announcements coming.

To me, this is BS!!! If you can offer paint for one event for a cheaper price, why can you not offer it at the larger event for the same price? You will sell more paint at the larger event then at the smaller one.
The numbers quoted to me from the site were, ".2000-4000 players vs. 100-500 players". Now, I am not a mathmatician, but to sell paint at $65+ per case to 2000~4000 people is much greater profit than selling paint at $50~$65 to 15~500 players.
HMMM! Wonder why we are not growing each year? It is clear that the DDay family is only interested in making as much money as possible off of this game. Dewayne in the past said that he started this to honor his family that fought for our freedoms, but it appears that he is out to make as much as he can now at our expense. Unless something changes, this could be my last year at DDay!

I am tired of trying to be a team player when the team is only out for individual rewards! This economy warrants businesses doing things to keep them afloat, here we try to make more money off of the biggest suckers!

Sorry, but that is the way that I feel!

I believe it is bad PR to charge one price for paint at one even and other price, at the same field for the same paint, a few months later at a different event.

This is a business and as such need to make a profit to stay afloat.
Hopefully someone with a PR background will point out what Icehouse, and I'm sure others are thinking.
It's hard to understand for some that you can make more money in the long run by charging less.

For those of you that would like to read my latest:

http://www.ddayadventurepark.com/forums ... php?t=1543

Go check it out! I believe that I was professional, but somewhat demanding in a response from Dewayne, not Global.

Keep in mind, I don't play around with people trying to take advantage of me or my friends...

Sorry...

Dewayne has responded to the thread at the D-Day forums. His point is valid. Now let me say this...

Out of anyone here, I am most certainly not one of Dewayne's most devout disciples. There have been times when I have gotten in his face and called him out on a few things. However, when it comes to pricing, I cannot fault him for anything. In my years at D-Day, I have not complained about the price that the man charges to use his field. And here's why.

Most 24 hour games (at least back when I got to play a bit more regularly) would cost $70-80 for the weekend. Then they would charge $60-80 for a case of paint. These games were just the one big weekend. The fields might have been 200 acres and had 2 bases and a center town. I think the biggest crowd I saw at one was about 300. These were a lot of fun.

D-Day is 3000+ players on a massive field that has improvements done to it each year. The costs of building everything each year, paying a staff, paying contractors, paying for supplies, and still being able to take enough home at the end of the day to make it all seem worth it are staggering. In my first year at D-Day I was just under the impression that Dewayne built the field and afterwards he took the money and lived the easy life. When I came back, I saw where my admission fee went.

The lower paint prices at the smaller events are to drive attendance up so that they will come back for the bigger events. They're marketing tools.

So, in short, Dewayne charges what he does and there's no need to complain.

Ok, it is good see the change in paint but as usual he making a killing on profit. When we were running our own feild in Kansas, Josh was buying paint for it, he was buying PMI Stingers, Preimium, and Marbs. I think he was paying $15-20 a case for Stingers, $20-25 a case for Preimium and then $25-30 a case for Marbs, and he was only buying it by the skid. So knowing those prices and that Dwayne/D-Day will get their paint for cheaper since they are buying a lot more you know he is making a killing on it. Those are just my thoughts, have a nice day.

My .02 cents and then I will leave this alone. Dewayne is running a business. It is his option to charge whatever he likes.
He could offer paint cheaper, but he could charge more also. In short, if you don't like the product or the service, don't buy it.
Does this mean I approve of the big difference in price? No, but I will continue to pay it because I believe I am still getting a good deal.
